Career Objective

To obtain a position in electronics that utilizes my technical education, training, and recent work experience.

Employment History

Applied Systems, Chandler, AZ    July, 1999 – May, 2003

Test Engineer

Repaired complex analog and digital circuit boards with troubleshooting to the component level.  With as many as 4,000 surface-mount components on a single board, sophisticated circuit board designs included DSPs, FPGAs, high-resolution D/As & A/Ds, picosecond timing circuitry, low-noise op amp and servo circuitry, as well as various discrete components.

Acted as technical resource person for other members of manufacturing test team, providing assistance with circuit operation and troubleshooting.

Constructed major subassemblies and modules for large, standalone electronic testers used in aerospace industry.  These testers combined “rack and stack” equipment with custom equipment trays containing high-current relays, load resistors, data acquisition circuitry, and extensive wiring.  Tasks included low-level work process definition, complete unit assembly (both mechanical and electrical), as well as inspection of the finished product.

Designed, programmed, and documented wire harness tester based on Cirrus EZ Wire system.  Used by manufacturing personnel to guide assembly of complex wire harnesses and provide instantaneous continuity checking, the tester reduced assembly times by over 50%.

Mechanical assembly and wiring of various bench-top test equipment items for use in turbine engine testing.

Phoenix Channel Eleven, Phoenix, AZ   January, 1998 – July, 1999

Assistant Engineer

Maintained, repaired, and purchased parts for tape machines (½”, ¾”), digital edit station, various electronic equipment, as well as personal computers.  In addition to maintenance duties, I provided engineering services for in-house “shoots”, including camera setup, audio setup, and tape operation.

Part-time, seasonal jobs 1994 – 1998
